Brazil lives its worst nightmare

BELO HORIZONTE, BRAZIL – An historical evening. There has been nothing like it since the first kick of a football over a century ago. The awesome Germany dismantled, crushed and floored the Brazilian squad, which fell to pieces in an astonishing and humiliating match. Brazil's 7-1 devastating loss was the nation's heaviest defeat ever, and the worst ever by a host country in the World Cup's history.
First there was disbelief, then embarrassment. Finally, pain, tears and humiliation. The Mineirão stadium was silenced, as was Maracanã 64 years ago, where 200,000 spectators crumbled after Brazil's loss against Uruguay, during the final match of the 1950 World Cup. However, nobody could have envisioned nor imagined the way in which the 2014 WC semi-final would end. The 7-1 historical result will be remembered as a great surprise worldwide. The dream is over - with just a painful glance - although the end of the match was a relief for a nation brought to its knees.
